You are a leader searching for more effective ways to serve. You seek to improve yourself, yet you are what you are by this action and introduction of many factors.
There is no such thing as a self –mad man. Each of us is the product of his inheritance form parents plus the effects of the environment or culture. Sitting with you, as you to read these pages, are generations of people who taught you to read, to organize and remember, to reason a course of action, to try that course, to move ahead of all goes well and to back up and take a new look and a new course of that appears best. Guiding the pen of the authors are countless individuals who have influenced our thought, experiences, and attitudes toward life.
Personal leadership is a product of three great great forces or in fluencies. First is our inheritance, which to some degree deter mines our relationships with other people which develop our per sonality and stimulate those qualities and attitudes which register as plus or minus as other person react to us. Finally, our environment , the laboratory where our leadership skill becomes trained or fixed. For many, who grow up in a free democratic society , their environment are rich media for leadership growth . Fir other less fortunate ,these factors for leaderships growth . For others ,less fortunate, these may limit somewhat the opportunity for leadership growth.
The purpose of these book is to develop an understanding of how these three factors interact with and about an individual leader to help him grow and mature in our rural society . Like wish, it will show how an understanding of these factors will help you as you try to improve your own leadership. More at tension will be given to then inheritance. A study of leadership is very complex and in a larger measure is not within the framework of this book. Leadership ability is considered to be n important part of the total personality pattern of an individual.
For the most part, leadership is acquired after birth by our relationships with other people, by our contact us for leadership, and finally by personal efforts to improve our own leadership, and this book begins with two assumptions –(1) an individual leadership ability can improved , and (2) you want to improve yours.
